Community Outreach programs

Empowerment is vital to our day-to-day business. We connect manufacturers to their markets, retailers to new products, dealers to their audiences, and employees to opportunities. As we grow, we share our success. Our investments in the world, its communities and individuals, benefit us all.

Our outreach includes supporting foster kids at Bridge Meadows, feeding the hungry through the Portland Rescue Mission, and volunteering to build houses as part of the Habitat for Humanity program. We are deeply committed to reducing our carbon foot print via Portland General Electric’s Green Power Oregon Wind Power program. We appreciate our success, and for the opportunity to contribute.

Bridge Meadows

Bridge Meadows

Bringing the Gift of Hope to Foster Children

Many of us share family and gifts during the holidays, but for many Oregon foster children, this is only a distant dream. We hold an annual drive to ensure that every child in the Bridge Meadows foster program receives a gift from a loved one.

About Bridge Meadows: Bridge Meadows offers former foster youth permanent families with their brothers and sisters, and a true home where kids and parents can heal, learn and thrive together.

The Common Humanity of a Hot Meal

If you’ve ever experienced a blood sugar level crash, it’s only a glimpse of what it is to face hunger daily. We cannot accept this condition as a way of life. It is this value that unites us to provide hot breakfasts for over 300 in need. We deliver to our fellow Portland community members.

About Portland Rescue Mission: The Portland Rescue Mission has had a tireless commitment to breaking the cycle of homelessness. They offer emergency services of food and shelter. Care to donate?

Habitat welcomes people from all walks of life to partner in serving families in need and creating a better community for everyone who lives here. Care to donate?

Working to Reduce the World’s Carbon Footprint

Portland General Electric’s Green Power Oregon program enables us to radically reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  We seized the opportunity to expand ecological stewardship through our commitment to the Green Power Oregon program.

About the Green Power: Oregon program: The program offers customers the option to offset their entire monthly consumption of electric power with power generated from renewable resources or offset their usage with units of renewable wind power. The proceeds from the program are used to support development of renewable energy projects.

About the Oregon Food Bank: OFB provides emergency food to people who are hungry through a cooperative statewide network of hunger-relief agencies, helping 1 in 5 households fend off hunger. OFB also leads statewide efforts to increase resources for hungry families and to eliminate the root causes of hunger by advocating for fair public policies, strengthening community food systems and providing nutrition and garden education to help people become more self-sufficient and resourceful.
